Collection of Romantic & Honeymoon Safaris
Private honeymoon safaris across Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and Rwanda, built around two people, not a group itinerary
Explore SafarisEmbarking on a honeymoon safari is an extraordinary journey that invites you to immerse yourselves in the breathtaking beauty of nature while celebrating your new life together. This experience demands a thoughtful approach, where intimacy takes precedence over a hurried itinerary. Picture enchanting evenings that linger in your memory just as vividly as the exhilarating game drives; a lodge where your room becomes a serene retreat, designed for romance and relaxation.
With over 13 years of dedicated expertise in crafting these unique escapes, we understand that a honeymoon safari is about more than glossy brochures—it’s an intricate tapestry of personalised experiences. Each honeymoon safari we create ensures your privacy, featuring your own exclusive vehicle and an expert guide who tailors every aspect of your adventure to reflect your desires.
Whether you choose to spend your days meandering through the untamed wilderness, marvelling at majestic wildlife, or indulging in leisurely moments by a sparkling pool under the vast African sky, the power to choose rests entirely in your hands. This is your opportunity to design the honeymoon of your dreams, where every moment is a chance to connect, explore, and make memories that will last a lifetime.
Kenya’s Maasai Mara and Laikipia conservancies suit couples who want a shorter journey with exceptional wildlife density and camps built specifically around privacy. Tanzania’s Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater work well for a longer honeymoon, often paired with a few days on Zanzibar’s coast to close the trip.
Uganda and Rwanda add gorilla trekking to the itinerary for couples who want something beyond the classic savannah honeymoon, and Rwanda’s shorter transfer times make it easier to fit into a tighter schedule.
June through October brings the dry season and the Great Migration’s river crossings in Kenya, both strong reasons to travel during this window if wildlife is the priority. November through May is quieter and often better value, with newborn animals on the plains and fewer vehicles at the same sighting.
Gorilla trekking permits in Uganda and Rwanda are available year round, though June to September and December to February offer drier trails. We build the itinerary around your wedding date and travel window first, then match the destination to it.
Mornings and late afternoons are for game drives in a private vehicle. Beyond that, most couples build in:
We do not fill every hour. A honeymoon safari works best with room left for the two of you to do nothing in particular.
We only recommend properties we have stayed in ourselves, and for a honeymoon that means checking a specific list: a private deck or plunge pool, a genuinely private dining option, and staff who know how to be present without being intrusive. Many of the camps we use can arrange a private dinner or a specific setup for the occasion, without it feeling staged.
If privacy matters more than anything else, we can arrange an entire camp or villa exclusively for you, with a dedicated vehicle and guide for the length of the stay.
A safari followed by a few days on the coast is the most common way couples close out a honeymoon, and it works well: active mornings on safari, then days with nothing scheduled. Zanzibar and Kenya’s coast are the two extensions we use most, both a short flight from the main safari circuit.
Lamu is a quieter alternative on the Kenyan coast for couples who want fewer people around, and Rwanda’s Lake Kivu pairs naturally with gorilla trekking for a shorter, calmer finish to the trip.
No shared vehicles, no fixed departures. Your pace, your priorities, your schedule.
George Nchau's team has stayed in every property we recommend, checking specifically for what a honeymoon needs.
A bush dinner or a specific request for the occasion is arranged with the camp directly, not left to chance
We know which properties handle a honeymoon well in practice, not just in their marketing.
