Accommodation in Uganda

Every lodge, camp and hotel we recommend across Uganda, each one vetted by a team that has stayed in it ourselves

Choosing the Right Accommodation

Where you stay depends almost entirely on gorilla trekking

Uganda’s accommodation decisions are simpler than Kenya’s or Tanzania’s in one specific way: nearly everything revolves around Bwindi’s gorilla permits and which national park you’re visiting. Lodges near Bwindi carry a premium driven by permit exclusivity, not luxury for its own sake, while Kampala earns a place on the itinerary only if you have a specific business or cultural reason to be there, not as a default capital-city stop.

Below, browse what we’ve built out so far. This page will grow as we add region-specific guides for Bwindi, Queen Elizabeth and Murchison Falls, in the meantime, our National Parks in Uganda guide covers what each park offers in depth.

Gorilla trekking

Most of Uganda's accommodation decisions start here

With only 21 habituated gorilla families nationwide, lodges near Bwindi Impenetrable Forest command higher prices driven by permit scarcity, not simply luxury positioning. Queen Elizabeth and Murchison Falls, further from the permit pressure, offer a more moderate price point for savannah and Nile-based wildlife instead.

The capital

Kampala, when it actually earns a place on the itinerary

Most gorilla trekking and safari trips never need a Kampala stop at all, transfers run directly from Entebbe to the parks. Kampala’s hotels suit travellers with a specific reason to be in the city, business, culture, or simply an interest in Uganda’s history, not a default overnight.

Our Commitment

Why Plan Through Kwezi Safaris

01

We have stayed in every property we recommend

George Nchau's team has visited these lodges and hotels in person, not sourced them from a booking platform

02

We handle gorilla permits directly

Booking months ahead, on the right dates, is the detail that makes or breaks a Uganda trip.

03

Private guiding, never a shared vehicle

Every stay we arrange is built around your own itinerary, not a fixed group schedule.

04

13+ years of relationships with Uganda's lodges

That access means better rates and more current availability than a booking platform can offer
