Transfers and Getting There

Your safari begins the moment you land. Our airport and inter-destination transfers use a fuel-efficient, well-maintained fleet, with optimised routing to reduce idling and unnecessary mileage. Shared transfers are available and encouraged where schedules align, lowering per-person emissions without compromising comfort. In selected destinations, hybrid and electric vehicle options are available for guests who want to extend their sustainability choices to every kilometre of road travel.

Safari Journeys and Game Drives

Our safari vehicles undergo strict maintenance schedules designed to keep engine performance — and emissions — in check. Routes are planned as circuit itineraries that reduce backtracking, giving you more time in the wilderness and less time burning fuel between waypoints. For guests who want to go further, we offer low-impact wildlife experiences: walking safaris, guided nature hikes, camel and horseback riding, mountain biking, and canoeing.

Eco-Lodges and Overnight Camps

Every lodge and camp in our portfolio is vetted for its environmental practices. We prioritise partners who run on solar, wind, or biogas energy systems and have moved away from generator dependency. The accommodation we recommend operates waste-free policies — eliminating single-use plastics, supporting recycling networks, and sourcing food from local, low-carbon supply chains. Reforestation and Afforestation

Since 2022, Kwezi Safaris has contributed to the planting of thousands of indigenous trees across Kenya and Tanzania through community-led programmes. Guests are warmly invited to participate — planting trees alongside local communities transforms a moment in your itinerary into a living, breathing legacy that will stand long after you return home. These trees sequester carbon, restore degraded habitats, and provide livelihoods for the communities who tend them.

Blue Carbon: Mangrove Restoration

East Africa's coastlines hold one of the most powerful — and underappreciated — carbon storage systems on Earth. Mangrove forests absorb up to four times more carbon per hectare than terrestrial forests, and they protect coastlines from erosion and storm surge. Kwezi Safaris supports active mangrove restoration projects along the Kenyan and Tanzanian coasts. Guests who add a coastal extension can opt into excursions where a portion of conservation fees directly funds this vital blue carbon work.

Wildlife and Ecosystem Protection

A living ecosystem is a carbon-storing ecosystem. Our conservation partnerships support rhino, elephant, and predator protection programmes — because the health of these species is inseparable from the landscapes they inhabit.
