Itinerary

Day 1: A Rest in Nairobi before embarking on your safari

On arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by a member of the Kwezi team, who will drive you to your hotel in vibrant Nairobi, and give you a brief on your itinerary and code of conduct.

Day 2: Head to Maasai Mara for a Wildlife Adventure

After a good breakfast, it's off to the Maasai Mara National Reserve. With a huge concentration of wildlife, Mara never fails, making game drives here such a spectacular experience.
The safari to Mara is also spectacular, with scenic views of the Great Rift Valley. You can opt for a stopover at a viewpoint to catch the sheer size that is the Great Rift Valley and point out the best lakes.

The expected arrival time is around mid-morning, have an en-route game drive as you head to your camp for check-in and lunch. Then, head for an afternoon game drive, exploring the vast landscape.

Day 3 & 4: Spot the Big Five and other predators in Maasai Mara

2 days in Maasai Mara exploring the vast landscape and rich wildlife. Twice daily game drives will give you an opportunity to spot the Big Five, famously coined for how hard it was to hunt them. 

With a huge concentration of Wildlife, Maasai Mara is among the best parks for a truly remarkable African Safari. The biggest highlight of any Mara adventure is the annual wildebeest migration, crossing over from Serengeti into Mara for greener pastures. The Big Five also call this place home, with spotting a leopard relatively easy.

Day 5: Transfer to Serengeti

Today you will begin early. After a quick hot drink, it is off for a morning safari game drive. All the animals are out in the morning, searching for breakfast, so it is the perfect time for your game drive.

After the drive, you will return to your accommodation for a full breakfast before checking out. You will then proceed to the Tanzania border where you will have a quick lunch before continuing on your journey.

Upon arrival at Serengeti National Park, you will check into your accommodations and then head right out for an afternoon safari game drive. At Serengeti National Park, the landscape is dominated by open woodlands and hills. This is one of the best places to find elephants, giraffes and dik-dik.

Upon returning to your accommodations for dinner there will be a bonfire where you can meet other travellers and swap stories about your safari adventure. Then it is off to bed for a good night’s sleep.

Day 6 & 7: Explore the vast Serengeti

Begin each day with a thrilling 4x4 game drive in the Park. There's a reason why Serengeti is so a revered park for wildlife seekers. Excellent wildlife, endless plains and the Maasai people. Spend your days exploring the Northern Sector of Serengeti with twice-daily game drives. During the game drive, you spot wild animals such as; leopards, Lions, Hyenas, The Ear-bat Fox, and Cheetah among others. This park is normally the scene of the annual migration of 
wildebeest and Zebra that occurs between the Kenyan Masai Mara and the Serengeti. Varied bird species that you might spot include; Eagles, Ducks, Geese, Egrets, Vultures, and Secretary birds.

The Serengeti National Park is arguably the best-known wildlife sanctuary in the world with over 3 million large mammals. Other common roaming herbivores and omnivore species likely to be spotted include; Hippos, Giraffes, Eland, baboons, and monkeys among others. Later at dusk, you shall resume back to the camp for dinner, a bonfire experience and a night's rest as you prepare for tomorrowʼs tour to Central Serengeti

Day 8 & 9: World Heritage site of Ngorongoro

After a full breakfast, it is off for a morning game drive for one last adventure at Serengeti National Park. Once again, this park offers designated areas where you will be able to enjoy a picnic lunch right out in the open. After lunch, there will be time for a little more exploring before it is time to head to the next park.

Upon arriving at Ngorongoro Crater National Park you will check in to your accommodation where you will have time to relax before an authentic African dinner. After dinner, there will be a bonfire where you can meet other travellers and swap stories about your safari adventure. Then it is off to bed for a good night’s sleep.

Day 10: Journey through Manyara

After breakfast, you shall check out of the hotel and depart to Lake Manyara National Park. Upon arrival, you shall kick-off to a day's game drive, where you might spot wild animals such as; Wildebeest, Zebra, Thomsonʼs and Grantʼs gazelle, Plain Zebras, Bushbuck, and Waterbuck among others. Later you shall be transferred to the Lake where you shall have a chance to see Hippos in their pool, Elephants on the shores of the lake, Hyena, Serval cats, Honey badgers, African Civet, Mongoose, Cheetah, Leopard, Jackal among other wild animals. Birdsʼ species likely to be spotted within the lakes shore include; Great and Lesser flamingos, Northern Shoveler, Yellow-billed storks, Pelicans, Black-winged slit, Pied Avocet, Caspian plover, Ruff, and Common gull-billed tern among others. Later in the evening, you shall be transferred to the lodge for dinner and prepared for tomorrow at the same park.

Day 11 & 12: Spotting the elephants of Tarangire

The park is extremely famous for its special diverse landscape and nine different vegetation zones. As you begin your game drive, you will be welcomed by the ancient and gigantic Baobab trees, which make even animals like the giraffe look tiny. The game drive goes on till about late afternoon and includes a small stop for a picnic lunch. to spot the tree-climbing python and the long-necked Gerenuk. The Tarangire National Park has the highest concentration of elephants, which offers a unique chance for you to observe interactions between elephant families. Don't forget to capture this beautiful scenery with your camera ready at hand. Later you shall be transferred to the lodge for supper and a night's rest as you prepare for tomorrow's tour of Arusha National Park.

Day 13 & 14: Safari in Arusha National Park

After breakfast, you will go on your last game drive of the trip in Tarangire as you check out and head to Arusha. You'll have a stopover at Karatu for lunch. You may opt to get some rest or head straight for an afternoon game drive.

Your second day will be packed full of action. Largely designed to protect Mount Meru, this under-rated and under-visited park features habitats ranging from open savannah to acacia scrublands and from rainforest to alpine vegetation. The range of wildlife is accordingly diverse: wetlands are home to hippos, the forests to colobus and blue monkeys whereas the wooded grasslands support elephants, buffalo, giraffes, zebra and many species of antelope. Leopards and spotted hyenas are the major predators and with a species list of nearly 400, the bird watching is excellent. 

DAY 15: Transfer to Zanzibar

On this day, you can opt to have a morning game drive at the Arusha National Park, go for a hike nearby, visit a local village or just head straight to Zanzibar. You will be transferred to the airport for your scheduled flight to Zanzibar.

One of our representatives will be ready to pick you up once you land in Zanzibar and take you to your resort.

DAY 16-20. Relax on an Idyllic Island paradise

Your days in Zanzibar will be filled with thrill and relaxation. There are a few optional activities you can consider. You will visit Jozani Chwaka National Park for sightseeing and nature walks, also, you'll be able to spot the endangered Red-Colombus Monkeys.
Another place to visit is the Spice plantation, which includes cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg and pepper, with so much to learn about from food culture, and medicinal use among others.
Other notable destinations to visit include the Old Fort of Zanzibar, the House of Wonders, The Old Dispensary and the Mnarani Aquarium Turtle Conservancy.

Day 21: End of safari

Arise morning for breakfast and later engage in water sports activities which include; scuba diving and later engage in a snorkelling safari by boat before resuming back to the hotel for lunch and refreshments. Later in the afternoon, you shall check out of the hotel where you may opt to do shopping at a mall on your way as you are transferred to Zanzibar International Airport to catch your international flight departure.
