Itinerary

Day 1: Your safari starts in Samburu

Your safari starts in the wilderness of Samburu. Lying in Kenya’s more arid northern region, Samburu offers a different wildlife experience to the more familiar destinations in East Africa such as the Masai Mara and Serengeti. Samburu is a land of elephants and lions but also the long-necked gerenuk and rapier-horned Beisa oryx. Look out for species here not seen further South such as Grevy's zebra, Somali ostrich and gerenuk, an unusual antelope that can reach up the trees on its hind legs.

You will be picked up from your Nairobi hotel/Airport early morning and depart for Samburu arriving in time for lunch. Get a little rest then we kick off with an afternoon game drive.  Later, go back to the hotel for dinner and overnight

Day 2: Discover the Samburu Special Five & a close encounter with the elephants of Samburu

Spend the entire day in Samburu National Reserve, with game drives. Samburu is famous for its Samburu Special Five, Grevy’s zebra, with their intelligent pin-stripe pattern; gerenuk, of the impressively stretchy neck; Beisa oryx, with pointed horns and distinctive markings; reticulated giraffe, clad in attractive coats; and Somali ostrich, a feathery delight. You will also be able to see the Ewaso Nyiro river which cuts through the park and provides nourishment and sustainability for the Fauna and wildlife in the park. Head back to the lodge for dinner and overnight

Day 3 & 4: Ol Pejeta Conservancy, home to the Big Five & White Rhino Haven

Embark on an early morning game drive, then head back to the lodge for breakfast and checkout. Then, start your journey to Ol Pejeta.

Your days will be filled with excellent game viewing in the conservancy (keep an eye out for the Big 5 – lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo). Be sure to take advantage of all the unique activities on offer between game drives. Drop by the chimpanzee sanctuary to say “Hi” to the rescued primates, and participate in an optional lion tracking excursion and horse ride through the wild or with rhinos. One opportunity you definitely cannot miss is a visit to the Endangered Species Boma to see the world’s last two remaining Northern white rhinos; you’ll also get the chance to hand-feed Baraka, a blind black rhino!

Day 5: Safari to the rhino haven & home to pink Flamingos in Lake Nakuru

Embark on an early morning game drive, then head back to the lodge for breakfast and checkout. Then, start your journey to Lake Nakuru National Park, enjoying the stunning Great Rift Valley scenery, and arriving just in time for lunch. You'll explore Lake Nakuru National Park on game drives to see its populations of large mammals like rhino, buffalo, eland and rare Rothschild giraffe, as well as the park's glorious roster of birds like pelicans, fish eagles, Verreaux's eagles and Narina trogons. In the evening, you will go back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: The Big Five & large concentration of Wildlife in Maasai Mara.

Have breakfast at your lodge then check out. Have a game drive on your way out of the park as you embark on a journey to Maasai Mara National Reserve.

With a huge concentration of Wildlife, Maasai Mara is among the best parks for a truly remarkable African Safari. The biggest highlight of any Mara adventure is the annual wildebeest migration, crossing over from Serengeti into Mara for greener pastures. The Big Five also call this place home, with spotting a leopard relatively easy.

Day 7 & 8: Explore the vast Savannah of Mara

Begin each day with a thrilling 4x4 game drive in the reserve. The pièce de résistance being top sightings include the river crossings when the wildebeest have to navigate their way past giant crocodiles lying in wait in the water. Such is the abundance of wildlife here that visitors can expect great game viewing at any time of year.

Day 9: off to Naivasha

After early breakfast, It is time to leave and head to Naivasha. One of the most beautiful of Kenya's Rift Valley lakes, Lake Naivasha is a pretty place where you're likely to see hippos, and where zebras and giraffes roam the lakeshore. It's a lovely interlude during your safari. You will arrive in time for lunch then later in the evening you will engage in the activities such as the boat ride and crescent island hike. You may also opt for a bicycle ride at Hell’s Gate. Later go back to the lodge/camp for dinner and overnight

Day 10: Close encounter with huge herds of Elephant in Amboseli

After early breakfast, It is time to leave Lake Nakuru behind and head to Amboseli. Although it is a small park by Africa’s standards, Amboseli has some of the best views of snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest free-standing mountain in the world. You will arrive in time to have lunch at your lodge Camp, from which you can enjoy those beautiful vistas of Kili, before heading off on your afternoon game drive.

Day 11: Exciting Game Drives with the Backdrop Of Kilimanjaro at Amboseli

An early start should grant you monumental views of Mount Kilimanjaro before clouds gather at the summit. The stunning, free-standing mountain will provide the backdrop to your day in the park. Amboseli has large populations of African safari staples, such as wildebeest, giraffes, baboons, and lions among many others. Also, within the park is a Masai village that you are invited to visit as an optional extra on your trip. The bravery of the Masai warriors is known the world over, and their culture is revered by all who come into contact with them.

Day 12 - 14: Tsavo East, untamed Wildereness

One of Africa’s biggest conservation areas, Tsavo is a giant swathe of red-earth savannah, raw and wild and home to a pleasing mix of classic savannah animals as well as those from the more arid north. Along with red-mud coated elephants and antelope, you’ll look for the long-necked gerenuk, Grevy’s zebra and the Somali ostrich – the male bird complete with blue neck and legs. It’s a good destination for big cats too, especially lions (the males with a characteristically short or absent mane) and cheetahs.

Day 15 - 20: Unwind at the white sandy beach of Diani

After early morning breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and depart for Diani Beach. Sunbathe on Diani Beach between refreshing dips in the warm sea or take a walk through the forest adjacent to the shoreline and watch colobus monkeys swinging in the tree canopies. You could dedicate your time to learning the art of kite surfing or discover an underwater world of fascinating marine life on a scuba diving excursion along the pristine coral reef. A horse ride along the beach at sunset is a fairytale experience you will cherish forever.

Day 21: End of safari

This morning, have breakfast and check out of the resort from where you will be transferred by road to the airport and connect with your onward flight home.

Note: From July through October you may also see the Great Wildebeest Migration take place in Masai Mara.
