Itinerary

Day 1: Hike to Mt. Kenya Bandas: A Scenic Mountain Adventure

Depart Nairobi at 08:00, driving through scenic farmland to Chogoria for lunch. Afterwards, head to the bamboo forest's edge and begin a thrilling 10 km trek through dense bamboo to reach Mt. Kenya Bandas. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at Meru Mount Kenya Bandas, perfect for climbers seeking an immersive adventure.

Day 2: Breathtaking Vistas at Mugi Hill, Giant Billiards Table, and Lake Ellis

After breakfast, we begin our ascent at a relaxed pace. The scenic route via Lake Ellis offers stunning views of Mugi, Ithanguni, and Giants Billiards Table. Alternatively, follow the river upstream, where the flora and scenery are captivating. After a riverside lunch, we hike up the left-hand hillside to a secluded camp at 3,600m, far from touristy spots—ideal for adventurous climbers seeking a more rugged experience.

Day 3: Hike to Mintos Camp: A Challenging Alpine Adventure

Begin the day early, trekking off the beaten path for 3 hours along a ridge before joining the Chogoria route at 4,100m. Enjoy stunning views of Gorges Valley, Ithanguni, and the Northern Moorlands. After a streamside lunch, continue to Mintos Hut at 4,200m where we shall spend the night. In the afternoon, take a short walk to the "Temple," a dramatic 150m cliff. Rest up, as the summit attempt awaits the next day—an exciting challenge for adventurous climbers.

Day 4: Summit Challenge: Conquer Point Lenana at 4,985m

Start your predawn summit attempt at 03:00, trekking for 3 hours to reach Point Lenana (4,985m) just in time for a breathtaking African sunrise. Descend to Shipton Camp for breakfast, then continue a 3-hour, scenic descent through Mackinder’s Valley to Liki North Camp (3,900m). Enjoy the gentle trail and stunning moorland views. End your adventurous day with dinner and an overnight stay at Liki North Camp.

Day 5: Return Journey to Nairobi

After an early breakfast, descend for 2-3 hours to Old Moses Camp, where a vehicle awaits to transfer you back to Nairobi. Enjoy the scenic drive, reflecting on your thrilling mountain adventure as you arrive in the late afternoon, filled with unforgettable memories.
